Binge Blogging is Dangerous!
You may have missed some entries as we are binge blogging. Be sure to scroll back until you reach the last blog you've read. We are trying to keep this somewhat chronological but we are very behind. Conner will be graduating from college next month....
Mzungu has come to mean "white person" in Swahili and many East African Bantu languages. In Kenya "mzungu! mzungu!" is often shouted by children to passing caucasians. This is often accompanied by pointing, giggling, jumping, and the statement, "how are you I'm fine!" repeated several times in a high pitch nasal voice. This is how they immitate European and American accents.
As you may know, our last name is White, so durring our visit to Kenya, Anne and I became Mr. and Mrs. Mzungu.
